The 'Pender' Project
An innovative Arts & Health Project
Nobody knows what it’s like to be on dialysis – except
if you are on dialysis. Nobody knows what it’s like to
be told that you have renal failure – except those who have
been told. Nobody knows what it’s like to hope for a kidney,
knowing that a kidney donor may never appear.
The aim of the ‘Pender’ Project is to offer present and
future renal patients, a way of coping with a new situation.
Box Clever artists Michael Wicherek (Writer), Jules Maxwell (composer)
and Carl Stevenson (film maker) will work with patients, staff and
carers to create a short video inspired by their experiences.
The video will plot an emotional pathway from diagnosis to treatment.
